Nobina wins bus traffic contract valued at SEK 150 million

Nobina has won a tender to operate Ruters’ regional traffic for bus line 25, in Oslo. The new contract will start on 2 April 2017 and extend over three years. The total value is estimated at SEK 150 million over the contract period, with option for three additional years.

Nobina has operated city transport in Oslo since 2011. The decision means that Nobina will expand its operations with the Public Transport Authority Ruter.

“We’re pleased by Ruters’ confidence in Nobina to operate line 25 in Oslo. Together with Ruter, we look forward, also in the future, to welcoming more and more satisfied customers to public transport,” says Philipp Engedal, Managing Director of Nobina Norway AS.

The ambition from Ruter is for all public transport to be fossil-free in the year 2020 and to also comprise a larger number of electric buses, hence a relatively short contract period.

The new contract covers 21 buses characterised by clear environmental goals, in which all vehicles will run on renewable fuel. Nobina will invest in new buses ahead of the traffic start in 2017.

The award decision is appealable not later than 5 July, 2016.
