Nobina secures new contracts for HSL in Helsinki

Nobina has been awarded new contracts to operate and develop public transport in the Finnish capital of Helsinki together with HSL (Helsinki Regional Transport). The two new contracts are for city transport, which together comprise 34 scheduled buses with a total contract value of approximately EUR 50 million.

The services will be launched on 1 January 2020. The contract length is one year for one of the contracts and seven years for the other.

By securing the contracts, Nobina will now operate five electric buses in Helsinki. Most of the buses included in the contract will be new and all will be fitted with USB chargers.

Nobina has not previously operated these contracts.

“We are delighted that HSL has entrusted us with these contracts, which will enable us to work together to continue developing public transport in Helsinki,” says Jan Bosaeus, Acting Managing Director of Nobina Finland Oy.

The award decision can be appealed until 30 April 2019.
