Nobina wins new major contract in Norway

Nobina has been awarded a new contract by Ruter to operate and develop city transport services in Oslo and the surrounding areas. The new contract will commence in December 2023 and, as always, Nobina will focus on sustainability, safety and a welcoming reception for passengers.

The new contract will entail an expansion of Nobina’s operations in Norway. The contract is valued at approximately NOK 1.7 billion and will extend for ten years from the start of services on 10 December 2023, with two optional extension years. The contract encompasses 56 scheduled buses.

All vehicles and technology follow Ruter's high demands for sustainability and Nobina continuously monitors our suppliers to meet both our and Ruter's requirements in the procurement. At the same time, all buses are fitted with new technology to ensure a high level of safety, such as blind-spot detection functionality and omnidirectional cameras that offer the driver a complete view around the bus.

“I am pleased that Ruter has entrusted Nobina to operate parts of city transport services in Oslo. It offers us the possibility to work together to continue to develop public transport with an emphasis on safe and secure journeys for our passengers,” says Jan Volsdal, Managing Director of Nobina Norway.

The award decision can be appealed until 24 June.
