Nobina secures large procurement contracts in Helsinki

Nobina Finland will begin operating a total of four contracts in Helsinki, of which one is completely new to Nobina. The four contracts represent a total turnover of approximately EUR 207 million over the contract period of seven years, and involve a total of 122 scheduled buses, of which most are electric buses. Traffic is scheduled to start in August 2022.

The Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) has awarded Nobina expanded and renewed contracts to operate public transport services in the Helsinki region. Nobina has also been entrusted to operate services as part of one completely new contract, including city transport services in the Helsinki region. All four contracts extend for seven years with an option of three additional years.

The tender process focused on environmental considerations, with a strong emphasis on innovative technology to promote long-term, sustainable public transport, for example through the new electric buses included.

“It is very gratifying that we have been entrusted to continue and expand our collaboration with HSL. Together, we will be able to continue to provide our passengers with secure, welcoming and long-term sustainable travel, not least thanks to the new electric buses featured in the contracts,” says Petri Auno, Managing Director Nobina Finland.

The award decision can be appealed until 8 June 2021.
