Nobina wins new contract in Norway
Under a new contract, Østfold Kollektivtrafikk has chosen Nobina to operate and develop public transport services in Fredrikstad and Sarpsborg and surrounding areas. As always, Nobina will focus on sustainability, safety and a welcoming reception.
As part of offering sustainable travel, most of the 139 scheduled buses will run on electricity while the remainder will run entirely on biogas. Moreover, the bus-washing facilities are certified under the Nordic Swan and the depots are designed to contribute towards overall sustainability through the efficient use of energy and water. All buses are fitted with new technology, such as digital rear-view mirrors, omnidirectional cameras that offer the driver a complete view around the bus, and defibrillators. The aim of all of this is to ensure passengers have a safe, secure and sustainable journey. The agreement extends for ten years from the start of the contract on 1 July 2023.
“We are pleased to work together with a new client and continue to do what we are best at – offering our passengers sustainable, safe and welcoming journeys, every day. We look forward to greeting new passengers on board,” says Jan Volsdal, Managing Director of Nobina Norway.
The award decision can be appealed until 2 May.
