Nobina Strengthens Its Position in Commercial Traffic – Acquires Oslobuss

Nobina AB has acquired Oslobuss AS, further strengthening its position in Norway’s commercial bus traffic market. Oslobuss has been a pioneer in technological and green transformation, as well as in developing quality and new services for both private and public customers in the transport sector.

The acquisition is part of Nobina’s strategy to continue expanding and developing the commercial bus market in Norway, laying the foundation for sustained growth and collaboration with both Nobina’s operations in the region and across the Nordic market. Today, Oslobuss is a leading commercial traffic operator in Eastern Norway, serving private and public clients in areas such as charter services, rail replacement, and shuttle operations. The company has approximately 210 employees and a fleet of 62 buses, a large proportion of which are electric.

“Through the acquisition of Oslobuss, we are taking the next step in our growth journey within commercial traffic in the Nordics. By combining our knowledge, scale, and technology, we can continue to develop quality, operations, and the market in Norway,” says Henrik Dagnäs, CEO of Nobina.

“We are pleased to welcome Oslobuss and all its employees to Nobina. With local presence, combined knowledge, and our collective scale, we will continue to develop services and solutions for both new and existing customers in the commercial bus market,” says Daniel Mohlin, Head of Commercial Traffic at Nobina.

“We are delighted to have reached an agreement with a large, long-term player like Nobina. Together, we can embark on this journey, building on our new shared strengths while retaining the Oslobuss identity and brand as part of the Nobina Group,” says Svein Busch Iversen, owner of Oslobuss.

Oslobuss – From One Bus to a Leading Force in Norwegian Coach Transport

Founded in 2002 by Svein Busch Iversen with a single bus, Oslobuss has rapidly grown into a major player in the Norwegian coach travel sector, and is today one of the country’s largest operators. The company’s customer portfolio includes prominent names such as Flytoget, the Norwegian Armed Forces, Avinor, as well as numerous municipalities and sports associations.

A shared priority among many of Oslobuss’s clients is a strong environmental commitment. Early on, the company chose to invest in new technology and sustainability, becoming the first coach operator in Northern Europe to introduce electric coaches back in 2019. Oslobuss has also been at the forefront of developing IT solutions to streamline and optimize the use of its vehicles and driver capacity.

Today, Oslobuss employs 210 people and operates a fleet of 62 buses from its headquarters in Haugenstua, Oslo. The company also includes Vestfoldbuss, headquartered in Tønsberg, and has additional branches in Drammen and at Oslo Airport, Gardermoen.

The acquisition is subject to approval by the Norwegian Competition Authority and is expected to be completed in September 2025.
