TransEdu, which has been part of Nobina Care and the Nobina Group since September 2025, has been awarded a renewed and expanded contract by the City of Helsinki following a completed procurement process.
of Helsinki following a completed procurement process.
The assignment covers service transport using stair-climbing equipment within the Helsinki area. TransEdu is already an established provider of service transport for the city, and the new agreement represents both renewed confidence and an expansion of the existing assignment.
The contract will commence on 1 May 2026 and run for a period of two years, with the option to extend for an additional two option years. The assignment will comprise a total of 15 vehicles. All operations will be conducted using electric vehicles, and each vehicle will be equipped with stair climbers to ensure safe and accessible journeys tailored to passengers’ needs.
“The acquisition of TransEdu is part of Nobina’s strategy to continue expanding and developing care and service transport across the Nordic region. This renewed and expanded contract is clear confirmation of that journey, and we are very pleased with the continued trust from the City of Helsinki — with a strong focus on both accessibility and sustainability,” says Thomas Nohre, Managing Director of Nobina Care.
The award decision may be appealed until 3 March.
Nobina Care acquired TransEdu Oy in September 2025. Today, TransEdu is one of the largest dedicated providers of care and service transport in Finland, with nearly 100 employees and approximately 100 vehicles. Its operations include service and school transport as well as taxi driver training.
