Nobina company secures renewed confidence: Oslobuss awarded new contract with Flytoget
Oslobuss, which became part of Nobina’s strategic expansion in the commercial bus market in 2025, has been awarded the contract to provide rail replacement bus services for Flytoget. The new agreement will take effect in 2027 and ensures the continuation of a close and successful partnership that has operated without interruption since 2019.
“We are incredibly proud and pleased to have earned Flytoget’s renewed confidence. Flytoget is recognized as one of Norway’s most quality-focused transport operators, serving passengers who expect the very highest standards of punctuality and service. Their decision to extend the partnership is a strong endorsement of the quality and reliability we deliver every day,” says Fredrik Eijerstam, CEO of Oslobuss.
The contract has an initial term of one year, with an option for an additional five-year extension that Vy may exercise following its acquisition of Flytoget.
The agreement covers the provision of contingency and rail replacement bus services at a “Service Excellence” level. This means Oslobuss will deliver transport solutions both during planned service disruptions and when unforeseen events require rapid mobilization and operational flexibility.
In line with the sustainability ambitions of Nobina, Flytoget and Oslobuss, the new contract includes a strong environmental focus. Oslobuss will provide a vehicle fleet that ensures at least 50 percent of the assignment is carried out using zero-emission vehicles. The company has long been a pioneer in sustainable transport and, in 2019, became the first coach operator in Northern Europe to introduce fully electric coaches into commercial service.
Oslobuss was acquired by Nobina last year as part of the Group’s strategy to further expand and develop the commercial bus market in Norway while creating a platform for continued growth and collaboration across Nobina’s operations in the region and throughout the Nordic market.
“As part of the Nobina Group, we have gained a completely new level of financial strength, operational capacity and access to resources. This allows us to combine the local flexibility and customer focus that Oslobuss has always been known for with Nobina’s extensive expertise in passenger transport,” says Fredrik Eijerstam.
